TERMS OF USE

Following are the rules applicable to the use of the Vio application (“Application”) made available by the FEDERAL DATA PROCESSING SERVICE. (“SERPRO”), headquartered at SGAN 601 Módulo V, Brasília, DF, CNPJ nº 33.683.111/0001-07 (hereafter “SERPRO”) on mobile devices running Android and iOS systems.

By using the application the User automatically submits to the rules and conditions of this Terms of Use.

  1. THE APPLICATION

    The VIO application for mobile devices provides users with a reader capable of reading and decoding information previously encoded in a QR-Code (Quick Response Code) generated by the VIO service, as well as verifying the originality of the QR-Code through the use of a digital signature. The application is then able to display the decoded information on screen or identify reading failures or non-conformities between the digital signature used by the VIO service and the one present in the QR-Code read.

  2. RESPONSIBILITIES

    The VIO user has a fast, secure and reliable feature at his/her disposal to assist in verifying the authenticity of the analyzed document. However, the VIO presents itself as an auxiliary element, and should not be used in isolation for this attestation, and only a duly accredited inspection agent is responsible for the final decision on the authenticity of the document, as well as the application of any legal restriction on account of VIOlations of the current legislation.

  3. CHANGES TO THIS TERM

    SERPRO may change, at any time and without prior notice, the content of the terms of use, the latest version of which will always be available on the VIO website at https://VIO.serpro.gov.br/legal.

  4. COMMUNICATION

    Whenever desired, the user can contact the VIO team at via e-mail at sac-VIO @serpro.gov.br. In such cases, the user undertakes from the outset that all contact made will be made from a proper and current e-mail.

  5. JURISDICTION

    The Parties elect the forum of the District of Brasília/DF for the resolution of any controversies arising from this term, waiving any and all other, however privileged it may be.

  6. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

    The User declares to have read, understood and accepted all rules, conditions and obligations set forth in this term.

PRIVACY POLICY

This document contains information about VIO, a product of the SERPRO (Federal Data Processing Service), regarding the collection, use, disclosure and transfer of information, including personal information, by the application.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

    SERPRO reserves the right to change, at any time and without prior notice, the contents of this privacy policy whose latest version will always be available on the VIO webpage at https://VIO.serpro.gov.br/legal.

  2. INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

    By accessing, using or browsing through VIO, you accept and agree to the information management practices described below.

    • COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
    • The VIO app uses the camera from a mobile device, usually a mobile phone or tablet, to read QR-Codes (Quick Response Code) generated by the VIO service. These QR-Codes contain a representation of the data present in a document.

    • USE OF INFORMATION
    • VIO decodes the QR-Code content and displays the result on screen for verification. VIO does not store locally or send to other devices any information read from QR-Codes.

      Agents of inspection agencies may make use of the application during inspection actions to assist in attesting the veracity of documents. VIO does not alter the set of rights and duties of the citizen and is only used as a tool by enforcement agents in conjunction with other mechanisms with the same purpose.

      SERPRO is not responsible for actions arising from interpretations of authenticity of documents.

  3. INTERNET ACCESS

    The VIO may make use of Internet access to update its database of document models and digital certificates to attest veracity. No personal information of the user is shared by the application under any circumstances.

  4. OUTSOURCED SERVICES

    VIO can be invoked by third party applications. In this case, the third-party application runs VIO, which overlaps the calling application window to scan the QR-Code and return the read data to the original application. The user will be presented with the VIO scan screen and the user has full control over the operation, including canceling it. The data read by the third party application will be subject to its own terms of use and privacy policy, so it is not VIO's responsibility how third party applications will use the data provided by it.
